Crew SC’s Romain Gall snubbed of spot on U.S. U-20 roster

Columbus Crew SC midfielder Romain Gall was left off of the U.S. U-20 roster for the upcoming World Cup, states Adam Jarvey of The Columbus Dispatch Thursday afternoon. This comes as shocking news for Crew and U-20 fans as Gall scored 12 goals in 15 appearances for the U-20 team. This includes a lone goal for the team in their 1-0 victory against Croatia two weeks ago.

The path for Gall is quite uncertain now, as Columbus Crew SC currently has arguably the best midfield in the MLS. Stars Ethan Finlay, Tony Tchani, and Justin Meram have no signs of leaving the team anytime soon. The team also is waiting on return of an injured Will Trapp, who is still dealing with concussion like symptoms. The clear move would be a loan to USL affiliate Austin Aztex, as Crew SC has just done with prospect Adam Bedell as well. Columbus is known as the frontier for player development in the MLS, and seem to have a commitment to developing young players into stars.

Gall was selected in last years weighted lottery by Columbus Crew on August 7th, 2014.
