Match Preview: Columbus Crew SC vs Valencia CF

There’s always an extra drive in players when playing such a worthy and prestigious opponent. That will not change whatsoever tonight when Columbus Crew SC gets their shot in a friendly against one of the most successful clubs in Spanish football history on their own home turf, MAPFRE Stadium. For those that only follow MLS, Valencia CF plays in La Liga, Spain’s biggest professional football league. They are a 6 time league title holder, and have had a successful time in Champions League as well.

Unfortunately, Valenica did not bring over their entire squad. Here are the players that have traveled over for the team, according to Massive Report:

Forwards (4): Paco Alcacer, Alvaro Negredo, Pablo Piatti, Rodrigo

Midfielders (6): Filipe Augusto, Fernando Cano, Javi Fuego, Dani Parejo, Rodrigo de Paul, Tropi

Defenders (8): Sergio Ayala, Antonio Barragan, Joao Cancelo, Jose Gaya, Shkodran Mustafi, Salvador Ruiz, Ruben Vezo, Nacho Vidal

Goalkeepers (2): Jaume Domenech, Yoel

Look for both teams to not really play their starters, at least for the full game. Head coach Gregg Berhalter is fully focused on MLS play currently.

Kickoff is set for 7:30PM EST.
