In an intense battle at GEODIS Park, defending MLS Cup Champions, Columbus Crew, faced off against Nashville SC. The match ended in a 2-2 draw, leaving fans wanting for more. Here is a look at the good, the bad, and everyting in between.

The Good

Hinestroza Opens His Account

Marino Hinestroza, the Colombian Midfielder, etched his name into Crew history by scoring his first goal for the team. His precise header found the back of the net providing a glimpse of his potential. The 21-year old, scored in the 79th minute to salvage a point in an otherwise underwhelming showing from the Columbus Crew. Not much else to take away from this one.

The Bad

Defensive Lapses: Conceding Goals

Despite their attacking prowess, the Columbus Crew struggled defensively. In particular, they allowed Aníbal Godoy to score a spectacular bicycle kick goal just before halftime. That was just the first of two added time goals just before the half. Such defensive lapses can prove costly in tight matches, and the Crew must address this vulnerability moving forward.

Injury Bug Strikes Again

Unfortunately, the Crew faced setbacks during the match as defender Sean Zawadzki sustained an head injury, impacting the team’s defensive stability. This injury, along with those sustained by Rudy Camacho and Christian Ramirez the previous week, will require careful management as the season progresses.

Look Ahead

Tigre’s Challenge and DC United Clash

Next up for the Boys in Gold is a matchup against Tigres. They’ll need to maintain their unbeaten run in the Champions Cup and capitalize on their attacking options. Following that, they face DC United on Saturday, aiming to secure crucial points in the ongoing MLS campaign. Fans can expect an exciting week ahead as Nashville SC continues their quest for success.

But the real question on everyone's mind, will we see Cucho on the pitch this week?
