The Match
In a thrilling encounter last Saturday, the Columbus Crew faced off against SKC at Children’s Mercy Park. The game turned out to be a showcase of attacking brilliance, with Cucho Hernández stealing the spotlight.
The Hat-Trick
Clinical Finishing: Cucho’s first goal came early in the 32th minute. His positioning inside the box was impeccable as he latched onto a cross from Max Arfsten. A calm finish past the goalkeeper put the Crew ahead.
Off-Ball Movement: Cucho’s second goal highlighted his off-ball intelligence. He made a diagonal cut, exploiting the gap between SKC’s center-backs. A perfectly timed through ball from Aidan Morris found him, and he slotted it home with precision.
Free Kick Madness: Cucho slotted in a perfeclty hit ball under the wall and bouncing into the net past the SKC goalkeeper.
A Special Player
Cucho’s movement off the ball was a joy to watch. He constantly pulled defenders out of position, creating space for himself and his teammates. His ability to find pockets of space in crowded areas disrupted SKC’s defensive shape.
As he continues to impress, Coach Wilfried Nancy will continue to rely on Cucho's attacking prowess. The partnership with Ramírez promises more exciting moments for Crew fans. Keep an eye on this dynamic duo—they’re poised to light up the MLS!
