Just a week after helping his team capture the MLS Cup and being named the MVP of the final, Cucho finds himself representing his country again.

The 24-year-old striker received a call up to represent Columbia in a friendly against Mexico on Saturday in Los Angeles, of all places. However, it will be played at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and not BMO Stadium, the home of LAFC.

Many considered Cucho the league's best player over its final two months. He backed up their opinion with a postseason run that saw him score five goals in six games, including a penalty kick that game the Crew the lead in the MLS Cup final. After a slow start to his season due to injury, he still finished with 16 goals and 11 assists. During one stretch in September, Cucho had two hat tricks in three games. He was deservingly voted to the MLS Best XI at season's end.

During FIFA’s November international window, Cucho received a call-up for Columbia’s World Cup qualifiers against Paraguay and Brazil. He did not appear in either of those matches that were both wins for the Columbians. Saturday’s friendly will be his fourth cap.

You can catch the game Saturday night on FOX Deportes, FUBO, UniMas, and TUDN at 7 PM ET.
