Three Columbus Crew players were called up to the US Men’s National Team for the November FIFA International Window: goalkeeper Patrick Schulte and midfielders Max Arfsten and Sean Zawadzki, U.S. Soccer announced Thursday.
The Crew trio will lead the USMNT into battle against Paraguay on Nov. 15 at Subaru Park, then will face Uruguay at Raymond James Stadium on Nov. 18.
Max Arfsten
Max Arfsten has notched 14 caps (12 starts) for the Stars and Stripes, tallying one goal and four assists. HE most recently competed in two international friendlies against Ecuador and Australia last month. Born in Fresno, California, Arfsten was the primary playmaker to Alex Zendejas, who scored in their 2-0 win over Japan. Arfsten was also a member of the 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup squad, registering two assists against Trinidad and Tobago before scoring his first international goal against Costa Rica.
Patrick Schulte
Just sitting at three caps with the USA, Patrick Schulte recorded a full 90 minutes and tallied three saves in his debut against Slovenia in January of 2024. His first win came on January 18, when the USMNT defeated Venezuela 3-1. Schulte also represented the USMNT in the 2024 Paris Olympics, starting all four matches and becoming the first active MLS player to tally a shutout at the Olympics.
Sean Zawadzki
Born in Olmstead Falls, Ohio, Sean Zawadzki took part in the USMNT’s January camp of 2024, getting his first start against Slovenia. Zawadzki hasn’t been called up recently, but is looking to get more minutes under his belt this month.
